Re: [atheists-55] Palin: Concession

I will concede that here in Md., in the past not voting for the Democratic candidate did not do harm. My message was generic in nature, i.e.; a national message. The point is the same, however. A vote not for Obama is a vote for McCain/Palin. If you feel so sure that in this election with the recent influx of fundamentalists into state and the question of accurate tallies of vote that you want to make a statement by not voting for either of the two main candidates then I can't question your behavior. I would make the point though that you might encourage the fundamentalist in this state to fight harder in the next election if we don't have a clear landslide.
But on a national level, my point is validate.

As far as any beliefs that I may have.....

It is not a belief that a vote for Obama is a vote for McCain/Palin.

It is not a belief that Palin is a religious fundamentalist that will do irreparable harm to our country if she gains the influence to do so.

It is not a belief that anyone who did not vote for Gore or Kerry in the previous elections in well over half the states gave votes to Bush.

It is not a belief that anyone who did not vote for the Democratic party or many who did not vote at all in both previous elections gave their vote to Bush.

It is not a belief that most who voted according to their beliefs/political viewpoint who was not in favor of Bush caused irreparable damage to this country.

It is not a belief that if they do it again, they will do more damage and it will probably be irreparable.

These are facts.

Reality is a B*tch.

We are facing a very dangerous time. I don't think that atheists are of like minds on many issues. I hope that all Americans when presented with a danger will stop arguing long enough to do what is appropriate to safeguard the freedoms that have been given to us in the U.S. Constitution.

Sorry Folks...I'm got to move on to other states. Argue all you want. You have the facts. Do with it what you wish.

We are looking for some passive activists for the National Pocket Atheists for this area. Checkout the website.
