Parsing Data with OpenRefine
Hosted by Baltimore Civic Hacking Meetup
Details
Sift through open data...Crunch the numbers...No coding required!
OpenRefine is a powerful tool for working with messy data, cleaning it, transforming it from one format into another, extending it with web services, and linking it to database.
Elliott Plack, GIS genius, can show you how to easily use OpenRefine. He'll demonstrate how he tracks things like prostitution by plotting arrests and using advanced filtering. Then show how you can easily map this data on sites like CartoBD.
