Balto HDR - Loudon Park Cemetery + Post Processing
Details
http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/1/d/5/8/event_92047512.jpegWe're hoping for some good weather on Saturday, March 10, 2012 for our Baltimore HDR weekend photo shoot.
In February we did a Sunday shoot (Baltimore Streetcar Museum is only open on Sundays this time of year). This month we'll do a Saturday shoot.
We'll meet at my house in Glen Burnie, then car pool up to Loudon Park Cemetery (use Wilkens Ave entrance) in Baltimore City.
I do quite a bit of photography training in cemeteries for several reasons. You generally have a quite location with a lot of open space. You can teach selective focusing and depth of field using headstones. Photography is all about shapes, colors, textures, and light. HDR depends on all of those elements also with a few extra.
Loudon Park is one of the oldest public cemeteries in the country. A mix of old and new tombstones can be seen everywhere. This helps with HDR as does the different types of stones which provide for a lot of contrast, an important element in photography.
There are quite a few mausoleums in this cemetery which lend themselves nicely to HDR.
We'll photograph for a few hours then come back to my house for some hot dogs and a quick lunch. We will then set up in my basement and do some post processing. We'll be working with Photomatix so make sure you bring your laptop with Photomatix loaded on it.
