This Meetup is dedicated to the discussion of literature in all forms. Members will collectively suggest and decide upon titles and share in an honest and elevated discussion of the month's selected texts.
Location will be determined by response levels, but will definitely be at a place in Baltimore conducive to the open forum.
Those joining the group should show a deep respect for the high art of literary achievement, and as such bring well conceived and supported discussion points, or at least not simply bash anything for bashing's sake.
Participants need not read every selected work to attend, but it is obviously better to do so, even if it means you (gasp) try new authors and genres that could challenge, expand or even anger you. You never know what you will discover, unless you try with abandon that which the world proffers.

I figure everyone can bring at least 1 or 2 poems, 10 copies each, and we can spend an hour or two basking in the glory of the sonorous sweetness of sense that is poetry's place in the panoply of all that is truly literary. Read more
