I know a lot of you receiving this e-mail are also part of the Creative Exposure Meetup Group, but since I cannot reach you over there, I wanted to reach out to you here.
Yesterday I sent out an e-mail to both groups offering some paid video work. I know you probably received it.
Today, I was removed from the Creative Exposure Group evidently because I sent out that e-mail last night offering PAID work to any of the members that could have possibly benefited from said PAID work. I was helping out a client at the same time that was looking for a videographer in 48 hours.
Making a post on the board here and there and there might have reached just a few people in a 48 hour period. The publicly available e-mail list was a more effective way to help two people connect.
So because I was trying to connect two people in need that would have benefitted some members of both groups, it looks like I was deleted from the Creative Exposure Meetup Group by Trish. I can only assume this because she did it with no explanation or so much as questioning why I had the audacity to use the mailing list to help a few people possibly make a buck.
By the way, thanks to those of you that responded. I know that one of you was hired for the job. Congratulations to you. My client was very grateful. As for the rest of the Creative Exposure Meetup Group, I am saddened that referring paying photography/video related work to the group is frowned upon by your esteemed leader.
I have a friend that's now looking for a wedding photographer. If you'd like to put on my referral e-mail list, feel free to drop me a line personally, as referring work is discouraged by the leader of the Creative Exposure Meetup Group.
Good luck everyone and Happy New Year.
