This looks like a good effort.  Please consider offering your support.  If you would like to share any photos with our group you can also post them to
My name is Kate Skaggs and I work for the Maryland Dept of Natural Resources, Chesapeake & Coastal Service. We're trying raise awareness around the MD King Tides Photo Initiative, and I was wondering if you could post something about it to this group or something similar.
The King Tides Initiative is an international public outreach campaign to raise awareness around existing coastal flooding occurring in our communities. The next King Tides event starts next week, June 22nd-25th. (Coinciding with the super moon).
The 'King Tides' are the highest high tides of the year. They are natural, predictable and have always been around. The photo initiative part is relatively recent. (Starting in Australia in '09 and this past winter was the first time we participated.) King Tides occur when the sun, Earth, and moon align in such a way that the gravitational pull results in the oceans bulging a bit. The highest of king tides are in December and June, coinciding around the solstice.
So, we're trying to get the word out as much as possible and asking people to take more pictures and upload them to our Flickr page: You can get more information at our page:
You can see how some other state and provinces are doing this: ,

If you would like to talk more about this, please contact me either by e-mail or phone: [removed; ask if needed]
I would greatly appreciate any help! thanks so much for your time, all the best,
