Thank you to all who came to our last meeting for add on products. To those who couldn't attend, we look forward to seeing you again in September. Wishing everyone a fantastic summer "holiday"...

Missed this meeting, but would have loved to be there. Having some issues with masses. Trying to cut a mass but get an error as follows: "This Mass has no solid geometry for its Void Forms to cut. They must be deleted, or solid geometry added and cut. However the voids intersect a mass? Also having an issue with view range, cutting a window, window sill not displaying. Seeking some expert advice.

We have used an add-in called Hatch22 to make custom hatch patterns right in a Revit project. The interface requires a little bit of a learning curve, but once you grasp the concepts it does a good job. My ultimate wish is for a really great family library browser/manager add-in. I've tried a couple of the ones available through Autodesk Exchange, but so far have been unimpressed.

I would also be interested in having a discussion about this. We have been researching this for a few months but have not committed to purchasing a product yet.

I have evaluated many of the most popular products out there and every one of them requires extra librarian-type effort, either distributed or centralized in a person. The problem comes when deciding how you are going to either pay for that librarian time or finding a way to make your employees do the librarian-type tasks. A couple of products make it fairly easy; but even if it is a one button push, I know our staff well enough that even that one button will not get pushed. We made our own that captures the rfa file when the user clicks the save button which they were going to do anyway. Zero effort always gets done. I can explain how it works more in depth at the meeting if you like.

We are contemplating purchasing Smart Browser Pro from Tools4Revit. Was wondering if anyone else out there was using a different family management add-on. So far, its the only add-on that can add/modify/remove parameters from families with "relative" ease.
