Meet with people who love BBQ to exchange recipes and ideas on the art of BBQ. And eat some Great Que too!

Safeway's 17th Annual National Capital Barbecue Battle is one of the World's Largest Barbecue Cooking Contests and the Official National BBQ Championship of America. It is also one of the largest fundraisers for The Metropolitan Police Boys & Girls Clubs having raised over one million dollars in past years. This years event will be held on June 27 & 28, 2009 along Historic Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, DC. Teams compete for $40,000 in cash and prizes in pork, chicken and beef catagories. Attendees will given the opportunity to vote for their favorates in Chinet's Peoples Choice Contest as well as sample over 50 products in Safeway's Sampling Pavilion. In addition to all the great food, attendees will be treated to the best Rock, R&B, Jazz and Blues on three stages and cooking demonstrations on six demo stages. Other attractions include Heineken's Beverage Gardens, NBA's Nation Tour featuring basketball courts, interactive displays and celeberty players and lots of interactive exhibits, childrens rides and more.
