Liberating acoustic metadata: AcousticBrainz and Essentia

Details
** For this meetup we change our usual place. We will meet at the Trovit (http://www.trovit.com/) office, near the Maria Cristina (L3) metro stop **
Robert Kaye (https://github.com/mayhem) and Xavier Serra (http://www.dtic.upf.edu/~xserra/), from MusicBrainz and the Pompeu Fabra's Music Technology Group will discuss their new joint project, AcousticBrainz (http://acousticbrainz.org/). This effort aims to develop a crowdsourced acoustic information database, powered by Essentia (http://essentia.upf.edu/), an audio recognition library created over 10 years at the Music Technology Group.
The generated data, which is now formed by more than 1.000.000 tracks, is available in a hacker-friendly CC0 (https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/) license, ready for research or software development.
Agenda:
• 19.00-19.40 // AcousticBrainz and Essentia
• 19.40-20.00 // Q&A and networking
