Details
Google Summer of Code (https://developers.google.com/open-source/soc/?csw=1) is a global program that offers engineering students stipends to write code for open source projects. KDE has been accepted continuously since 2005 and is one of the organizations that hosts more students each year.

If you are curious about open source and you like to code is a fantastic opportunity to get introduced to the community and contribute directly with the help from a dedicated mentor. Last year 190 organizations were accepted (https://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/org/list/public/google/gsoc2014), including the Apache Software Foundation, Git, GNOME, Mozilla or Wikimedia.
Aleix Pol (https://twitter.com/aleixpol) from KDE, has completed three GSoCs and is also a mentor. He will introduce the program for the interested students. Come with your questions!
This meetup is hosted in the UPF HackLab (https://hacklabupf.github.io/), a new open space for anyone interested in technology and communication.
