1st Speaker: Medha Samant from eBay

Senior Product Manager at eBay, Medha leads a team of Product Managers in Global Data Infrastructure organization at eBay to drive product strategy and execution for Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform, solutions and services. She works closely with Kylin product team to drive the vision, roadmap as well as collaboration of Kylin with other Apache projects.

Apache Kylin – Extreme OLAP engine for Big Data [& its relationship to Drill]

Apache Kylin and Apache Drill together can provide fast access to petabytes of data for the pre-aggregated as well as ad-hoc queries.

Apache Kylin is eBay’s open source Data Analytics solution on Hadoop, providing smarter Analytics on petabyte scale data at sub second latency. Kylin’s pre-built MOLAP cubes, distributed architecture, and high concurrency helps users analyze multidimensional queries using Kylin’s SQL interface as well as via other BI tools like Tableau and Microstrategy. Kylin is successfully deployed and used in eBay for a variety of production use cases, including web traffic analysis and geographical expansion analysis.

2nd Speaker: Jacques Nadeau from MapR Technologies

Jacques Nadeau is VP of Apache Drill open source project with the Apache Foundation and leads the Apache Drill development effort at MapR Technologies. He is an industry veteran with over 15 years of big data and analytics experience.

2nd Talk: Apache Drill 1.0 Release

Jacques Nadeau will present a lively report on the new Apache Drill release of version 1.0: what Drill can do and who will benefit from using this open source software.

3rd Speaker: Norris Lee from Simba

Norris Lee is a software developer at Simba working on data connectivity. He is interested in all things big data.

3rd Talk:

Norris will present how to set up and use the Apache Drill ODBC driver, using Drill Explorer to simplify data exploration and view creation
