In her memoir, Mary recounts her 20 years working with Mother Teresa of Calcutta as one of the "Missionaries of Charity." In her talk, she will discuss what led her to join the group, what life was like inside this secretive and cloistered organization, and the revelations and hard truths that led her to leave and eventually become a non-believer. She will also discuss in detail the psychological forces that keep people in groups, even long after they have lost faith in its cause, or realized that it doesn't operate the way members believed it did.
This talk will be held in Ohlone College's Smith Center for the Performing Arts. The link below will take you to our web page where you can get the address and a campus map.
