Godless Perverts Social Club

Join us every first Tuesday of the month at Wicked Grounds, San Francisco’s renowned BDSM-themed coffee house for an evening of conversation and socializing. Community is one of the reasons we started Godless Perverts. There are few enough places to land when you decide that you’re an atheist; far fewer if you’re also LGBT, queer, kinky, poly, trans, or are just interested in sexuality. All orientations, genders, and kinks (or lack thereof) welcome. There’s no admission, but we ask that you buy food and drink at the counter, or make a donation to the venue.

I was expecting the discussion to be more personal and less political... still, it was time well spent.

Tonight was excellent! So excellent we forgot to take our normal half-way break. Sorry so many people didn't make it out due to the rain. Had a great time, even when we derailed quite a bit. :-)

Hell, yes. Otherwise, some Christian somewhere will smugly claim that the rain was God's work to keep the heathens from gathering. I'll certainly be there. Looking forward to seeing the rest of you.

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these heathens from the swift completion of their appointed perversions. See you there!

Sorry to hijack, but: Sheldon, it would be really nice to see you - this is my last social engagement before major oral surgery and new teeth. :-)

Is anyone coming up from the San Jose area? If so, can we carpool?

Not wicked enough for me, then

I looked them up and realized they probably don't serve wine. That kind of spoils a dinner possibility for me

You're correct. Wicked Grounds does not serve wine.

I'm interested, but unwilling to drive in the City and nervous about walking alone in that neighborhood, especially at night. Anyone interested in meeting at the Civic Center BART station and walking there or, even better, meeting near the station for dinner first?

    March 21, 2014

    • Greta C.

Joe: You obviously need to make your own assessments and decisions about your safety. I can tell you, though -- and anyone else reading this -- that I walk alone in that area all the time, including at night, and feel as safe as I do anywhere in the city.

And yes, Wicked Grounds has food. It's not a huge menu, but what they have is quite good. Their soups and chili are especially delicious (as are their milkshakes, although you might not consider that dinner :-) ). Hope you can make it!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
