Just doing it. Old school, not "ultralight". My gear is worn, gets mended and replaced all the time. Hiking pace is no longer supersonic, rather laid back, but still can go distance. Like camping cozy, staying late by campfire, with lots of hot tea and philosophical talks, if there is a good company. IMO, fire is the soul of a camp. Fire restrictions will normally keep me out of the area.
Know some rarely visited corners in West Sierra.
An old time backpacker. Out in Sierra nearly every weekend. Fit yet relaxed, not looking for sports achievements. Smoke, sleep late, love campfires. If these don't sound like sins to you, let's go together.
