General group for anyone interested in fly fishing.

We have some good salt water fishing in our backyard and great fresh water fly fishing a couple hours away. It would be fun to meet new people in the Bay area who fly fish...to socialize, share trip reports, tell big fish stories and plan some trips.

Ideally you should know how to fly fish and have your own equipment. I don't mind sharing tips or pointers where appropriate, but it's difficult to teach people to fly fish. If there's a big need for any type of lessons (i.e. total newbie, spey casting or fly tying) then email me your interests and I can look into working with the local fly shops to set something up or point you in the right direction.

Some general rules:
I strongly encourage catch and release fishing, with minimal impact on the fish and the environment. Our natural resources are too precious to practice the old catch-n-cook method.
