Welcome to Queerly Operatic, the San Francisco Bay Area's free lesbian/gay/queer opera club! Queerly Operatic has been going strong for 12 years now (since long before MeetUp). We meet for potlucks, DVD nights, and performances, often featuring operas with gender-bending "trouser" roles or selections from S.F. Opera's upcoming season. This year for the 2011-2012 season, we'll have something new: gatherings in conjunction with SF Opera Rainbow Series, so you don't have to go alone! In the spring, we sometimes get group tickets to Berkeley Opera performances and go out for dinner afterwards. The rest of the year, we return to our format of once-a-month potluck and opera DVD nights (new location: walking distance from the North Berkeley BART!), usually on the second Saturday of the month, with occasional special events in San Francisco and the East Bay. Potluck video nights are limited to 10 people so everybody gets a chance to meet (and a seat!), but outside events (like when we go to the Met at the Movies "Live in HD") are sometimes bigger.
