Welcome to Queerly Operatic, the San Francisco Bay Area's free lesbian/gay/queer opera club! Queerly Operatic is 10 years strong and has more than 200 members, both women and men (most of our members are on the original mailing list; we're just now trying MeetUp).
We meet for potlucks, videos, and performances, often featuring operas with gender-bending "trouser" roles or selections from S.F. Opera's upcoming season. In the spring, we sometimes get group tickets to several Berkeley Opera performances and go out for dinner afterwards on College Avenue. The rest of the year, we return to our format of once-a-month potluck and opera DVD nights on Potrero Hill in San Francisco (usually on the second Saturday of the month), with occasional special events in San Francisco and the East Bay. Potluck video nights are by strict RSVP and are limited to 10 people so everybody gets a chance to meet (and a seat!). You can read more on our main website, QueerlyOperatic.org .
