Designing Unforgettable Learning Experiences

  • April 22, 2014 · 6:00 PM
  • LinkedIn Building 6

There are many ways to design great learning experiences, yet typical learning events still follow the paradigm of long presentations, trivial discussions, multiple-choice assessments, and the dreaded "click next to continue." Let's face it: lots of learning experiences in the workplace are BORING.

With the rise of concepts such as gamification, social learning, mobile learning, and flipped classroom, there's plenty of opportunity to integrate fun and memorable experiences into your learning programs.

Join us as we discuss techniques and processes that enable learning professionals to design innovative and effective learning experiences.

Speakers:

• Tatiana Chapira, Google
Designing Effective Pill-sized Learning To Accomodate A Busy Audience

• Carly Yuenger, Allen Interactions
Applying the Context, Challenge, Activity, Feedback (CCAF) Framework To Design Meaningful and Memorable Learning

Using Agile and Lean Startup Methods to Make New Learning Designs More Successful

Thanks Rajon! The meetup very well-organized, down to signs along the road/parking lot to direct us the right way. It was incredibly informative too - it was like a full day's conference in 3 hours. Great speakers working on highly relevant issues with practical advice.

Thanks everyone for attending. It was great meeting all of you yesterday, and seeing everyone enthusiastic about discussing different concepts of designing learning experiences and how to get there. I'll be sending an email with a survey so that we can make future meetups even better!

Hey Everyone! For those that are attending tonight, you'll have to enter through the side of the building due to construction being done in the front lobby. You'll see signs posted everywhere.

We updated the speakers and agenda to this meetup. This meetup is turning up to be an exciting one! We only have 8 spots left so reserve a spot if you haven't done so. If you can't end up making it, make sure to remove your RSVP for others to sign up. Thanks!

Hi Folks! We had to change the meetup date and location. The date moved up one day to Tuesday, April 22. Luckily the location moved just across the street to LinkedIn Building 6. We hope everyone can still attend with these new changes. If you can still make it, thank you so much for your flexibility and time. We're looking forward to having meaningful discussions about great learning experience design. Thanks!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
