The Talks
Aaron Williams (SAP): Harnessing the Internet of Things:
Come join us and learn about how SAP is using the Internet of Things (IoT) to drive new insights from the connected world around us. We will give a brief overview of IoT and then show you how you and your company can get started with IoT projects by using inexpensive single board computers such as Beagle Bone Black and Raspberry Pi and open source OS and programming languages.
Solomon Chang (Zen Producer): An Introduction to Cassandra for RDB Folks
To those who have been used to working with SQL-based Relational Databases for their entire career, the idea of NoSQL may seem intimidating, since the name NoSQL implies the absence of any Structured Query Language... but this is not true! This short talk eases the traditional RDB user into the world of NoSQL using traditional RDBMS elements DDL, and covers cases as to why one would choose a NoSQL solution over a SQL one.
Location
The meet up will take place in the beautiful SAP campus in Palo Alto, more specifically in the Cafeteria of Building 3. Feel free to bring your laptops, we will provide seating & tables.
