At this month’s meeting, Mike Tadros will lead a discussion entitled "Taking Advantage of Google's 3D Warehouse." If you’re not new to SketchUp, you’ve likely encountered Mike before as the host of School’s The SketchUp Show (http://www.thesketchupshow.com/) or author of Real World Google SketchUp 7 (http://www.peachpit.com/store/product.aspx?isbn=0321685571). As a co-founder of Igloo Studios and head instructor at School, he’s taught thousands of people to use SketchUp.

We encourage our fellow SketchUp users to come with questions and a willingness to participate. This is a broad topic, so Mike is looking forward to steering the discussion towards topics that the audience responds to. Sharing our insights, best practices, and frustrations will make this a instructive and entertaining exchange for everyone. Here are some suggested topics that could come up during the discussion:

General:

• Searching the warehouse

• Browsing collections

• Saving favorite searches (on the warehouse, as well as in your components library)

• Tricks for importing Geo-located content

• Creating collections to organize your models

• Making your models private when uploading to Warehouse

Beginner:

• downloading and adjusting existing models to suit one's needs

• Moving/rotating the model into position

• Re-sizing the model

• Configuring dynamic attributes and make component arrays.

Advanced:

• More efficient ways of downloading component libraries from the warehouse

• Managing those libraries locally

• Editing dynamic attributes and editing a component to remove or add parts and details.
