Swap & Sew: Clothing Swap & DIY Reverse Appliqué T-shirts

Details

Let's meet at American Steel's Poplar Gallery to socialize while we swap clothes and ideas. This month's DIY project will be: Holey Shirt! Reverse Appliqué T-shirts. Examples: http://bit.ly/1nITvKS

Spring is on it’s way, so break out the T-shirts and let’s spruce them up for the sunny season. Reverse Appliqué is a technique that involves cutting a window in a T-shirt and sewing contrasting fabric on back showing through. Sew with a machine or by hand. You can transplant graphics from one T-shirt to another or create detailed shapes of your own.

For this project, Please Bring:

  1. T-shirt or other jersey clothing that fits you well (Eliminate unwanted holes and stains!)

2.T-shirt (or other jersey fabric) to use as the accent

  1. Clothing to swap (men, women, children, all sizes)

  2. T-shirts to swap (With cool graphics and patterns especially)

We’ll supply: Sewing machines, thread, tools, scissors, etc.

Food and beverage are always encouraged so if you can, please bring something to share.
