React & D3: Better Together
Details
We have a special guest visiting us at the Gray Area Foundation for the Arts (http://grayarea.org/) this June.
If you are a front-end developer, D3 developer or just curious about what React has to offer us this data visualization community, then you need to attend!
On the 8th, Swizec Teller (http://swizec.com/) (A geek with a hat) will teach us how to integrate React and D3 properly to build reusable data visualization components. In this talk you will learn why using React makes your data visualization code better, what makes it more reusable, and why it’s easier to understand than raw d3. Swizec is also going to show you two different ways of integrating React and D3 as well as showcase other cool works he's built.
Agenda:
6:30 - 7:00 Grab some grub and a seat in the theater
7:00 - 8:00 Swizec gets us grounded in React + D3
8:00 - 8:30 Q & A (you'll want to know more)
8:30 - 9:00 Show your own; Code and Tell

$10 - $20 entry fee at the door. Please pay what you can! Gray Area Foundation For the Arts is a non-profit community space that fosters Art and Technology events, projects and education such as our recent d3.unconf. Your entry fee supports their continued efforts.
This is the third event in a series of educational lectures. We hope that the knowledge and connections gained from the night will be well worth the entry. We will also continue to operate completely free events supported by local companies as usual.
