Let's try an additional monthly book review at a different location!

So Much for That, by Lionel Shriver

A New York Times bestseller, the book is described: "Shep Knacker has long saved for "the Afterlife", an idyllic retreat in the Third World where his nest egg can last forever. Exasperated that his wife, Glynis, has concocted endless excuses why it's never the right time to go, Shep finally announces he's leaving for a Tanzanian island, with or without her. Yet Glynis has some news of her own: she's deathly ill. Shep numbly puts his dream aside, while his nest egg is steadily devastated by staggering bills that their health insurance only partially covers. Astonishingly, illness not only strains their marriage but saves it.

With only 4 of us in attendance, it was a chance to pick apart the book thoroughly. We all related to it in different ways, which made it interesting and personal. Two new members came. Oh, Jody, that's sweet of you. I'd also offer to have it at my home, but we'd interfere with my son trying to get h/w done. I just now saw this message. (2/12)

Annie, as you can see, there are only 3 of us attending this event at this time. Jody just wrote that she finally got the book this weekend at the library and probably won't be able to finish it by tomorrow eve. Are you available if we push this off one more week so Jody has an opportunity to complete the book?

Yes, I believe so. I'm near the end of the book too. Thanks.
