Downie Soft

Details
A weekend of Downieville riding! The plan is to do an afternoon standard (pedaling) ride on Saturday and a downhill run on Sunday.
Rocky Rest campsite #7 has been reserved for Saturday, October 6.
CAMPING COST: It's $30 per night per camp site, and each site allows for up to six people, so depending on the total number of people who come, that may be hardly any $ per person. It's also $5 for each additional car.
SUNDAY SHUTTLING: The plan on Sunday is to do the Downieville downhill ride. We could shuttle ourselves or use a local shuttle service. Shuttling is $20 per person. Departure times might be 9am (and another one at 1pm for second run option). This ride is advanced and not for beginners.
BRING: Your bike and gear, camping equipment, clothing layers, money, food. You will be responsible for your own safety. Please print out (or buy) your own trail map to have on hand.
FACILITIES: The campsites are equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided. No showers! You must go into town to use a shower, or use the river.
LOCATION OF ROCKY REST CAMPGROUND: Do not click the "address" above. This is where we will meet:
GPS: 39.51389, -120.97444 (39°30'50"N, 120°58'28"W)
From Downieville, travel south on Highway 49 for about 11 miles. The campground is on the left side of the highway. If you are coming from the Bay Area or the Central Valley, you will most likely take HWY 49 north, in which case Rocky Rest campground will be on your RIGHT.
Heavy rain or snow cancels this event.
This event is also being posted with a couple other groups, so a campsite limit may be imposed. If the limit is reached, you may be responsible for arranging your own accomodations.
