"Hello Jo" and Mozilla Web FWD

This is an introduction to Jo, the lightweight HTML5 app framework for: iOS, Android, webOS, Chrome OS, BlackBerry WebWorks, Bada, and pretty much any platform that has HTML5 support. The talk will cover architecture, philosophy, features, and integration with PhoneGap with a few slides and lots of coding demos.

Dave Balmer
As a Sr. Software Engineer with HP webOS Developer Relations, Dave is a JavaScript guru currently focused on mobile app development with HTML5. As an alum of Yahoo! and various startups, Balmer has been a Web developer since 1994, with a serious focus on JavaScript as an application-grade language since 2003. Balmer is the creator of several proprietary JavaScript application frameworks, and most recently an open source, cross-platform HTML5 mobile app framework called “Jo” ( http://joapp.com/)... (http://joapp.com/)).

Web FWD
Web FWD is the community-driven accelerator from Mozilla Labs which focuses mainly on mobile. We will be bringing in teams of product developers/entrepreneurs to Mozilla offices for 4-weeks and we will provide access to Mozilla crew as well as our network of brilliant mentors. The first iterations of the program will take place in San Francisco, and shortly after we will roll it out to Mozilla offices all around the world.

Pascal Finette
Pascal is Director of Mozilla's WebFWD accelerator program, where he works with the wider community inventing the future of the Web. He loves technology and believes that the Internet is deeply impacting mankind. Prior to Mozilla, he led eBay's Platform Solutions Group, consulted a bunch of entrepreneurs on their strategy & operations and invested into startups, among other things. Pascal frequently speaks about Open Innovation on the Web.
