FUNDAMENTALS at 6:15: Creating Dashboard Reports with Web API

Translation and Localization

Many applications need to support multiple languages and locales. This presentation will introduce the localization process from the perspective of the translation service provider, and then go over best practices for getting desktop, web, and databases ready for localization. Michael will present code samples, discuss tradeoffs and anti-patterns, and answer audience questions related to translation localization.

Michael Teper is the CTO at Elanex, a language translation technology and services company. Michael has been building commercial software using Microsoft technologies since 1995, shifting primary focus to .NET when with the first beta release in 2001. He holds a degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and has a broad background in software development. He has extensive experience in web technologies (ASP.NET/MVC, REST, JavaScript), Windows UI technologies (Windows Forms, WPF, and Silverlight), data technologies (SQL Server, LINQ, NHibernate. NoSQL), and software development process related methodologies (SCRUM, Unit Testing, Continuous Integration).

I cannot make it to this one, but would love to see another one related to internationalization and localization, as it's an aspect many often oversee until it's too late and too expensive to address.
