Pop-up Coworking day
Details
It was great to see some Bayside Coworkers at our first Meetup and we’re keen to keep up momentum.
Bayside Coworking has been given a fantastic opportunity to set up a Pop-up Coworking day at Kingston City Hall in Moorabbin. We approached Steve Kingi who manages their events schedule and he’s delighted to provide a temporary space. Steve has been hosting a really unique pop-up bar http://www.kingstonarts.com.au/list on Friday evenings for local residents and businesses and aims to return the Hall to it’s former iconic profile as a respected live music venue. The pop-up bar events run each Friday until the end of March (last one on Thur 28th) and have attracted an eclectic crowd to sample local breweries, food and bands. Darren and I have attended the first two pop-up bar nights and it’s a great atmosphere among the faux grass, tropical pot plants and wooden pallets as makeshift furniture.
We are going to use the Town Hall lobby to host a Pop-up Coworking event between 10am – 3pm when the bar is closed. The area will have power, tables/chairs, water, restroom facilities and has an array of places for coffee and food nearby. We will provide 3G mobile broadband for those that need it. The first of these is on 22nd March and due to it’s ‘pop-up’ theme, it will be limited to a ‘test group’ of 15 Coworkers.
The pop-up bar is open from 4pm until late and those that attend are more than welcome to join in the experience, including a live band and the Giant Jenga! Even if you can’t join us during the day, we would love to see you during the evening for a chin-wag over a couple of froths.
