This Saturday's picnic is going to be very special. Family from out of town is visiting, and friends from far off are coming, and members of various groups that I'm a part of are all coming together to experience the joy and sharing quality raw food with quality rawsome friends.
You don't have to be an expert rawvegan chef to come. Bring some washed organic berries in a bowl. Slice up a watermelon. Honeydew and cantaloupes are excellent as well. Blend up mangoes in your food processor with a couple strawberries and a banana to make mango pudding (would want to make this immediately before coming for freshness).
We love tasting the food from your garden, so if you're growing spinach, and lettuce, etc, bring us a home-grown salad. We'll appreciate the love you've put into it. Dandelions, clover, chives -- if you've got 'em, eat 'em!
The picnic starts at 1:00pm. You're welcome to come late, but accept that some of the most-loved dishes may be devoured if you're very late.
Come early if you want to bring several blankets and/or chairs and get really comfortable. We'll be there at 12:30pm.
We'll be setting up at Delevan and Bidwell on the parkway. We'll have blankets spread out and they'll be a group of us, so we'll be easy to spot.
Some friends are bringing holla-hoops to dance in the park. If you have a hulla hoop or a hacky sack, bring it along. Jambe drums and other instruments are also welcome.
Stop by the meetup page and RSVP if you think you might come. It's a potluck picnic, so there is no pressure to come just because you RSVPed, but it's good to have reasonable idea of how many people are coming. Currently expecting 15 to 22 people. The more the merrier! The park has room for YOU!
