Beach Cities Hip Mamas is much more than a playgroup - we're friends!
Beach Cities Hip Mamas holds regular, consistent playdates for our children in age-appropriate in-home playgroups. Virtually all of our members are committed members of a playgroup (or 2) within the Beach Cities Hip Mamas (there are 4 long-term playgroups and 2 newer ones!). We also go on outings, regularly scheduled group-wide events, enjoy mom's night outs together and have a few sub-clubs such as our Book club, Jogging club, etc.
The relationships you and your children build in these weekly in-home playgroups play a central role in Hip Mamas and what its membership stands for ~ building close, long-lasting friendships between members and their children. Consistency in seeing those same faces from week to week is important to moms and for the kids to feel like they are in a comfortable, safe environment.
To maintain the close-knit nature of our group, we keep our membership to a maximum of about 60 families. Our members are asked to commit to participate in an activity at least once a month and if they choose to become a member of one of our 10 playgroups (up to 5or8 members in each playgroup), then the commitment will be roughly once a week.
You must be a current resident of one of the following Beach cities listed below to be eligible for membership: Torrance, Gardena, Lomita, Palos Verdes, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Hollywood Riviera, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and El Segundo.
Privacy and Safety is extremely important to our members so before you are an official member you must complete the following: 1. Have a photo on your profile 2. Answer the questions requested 3. Fill out our questionnaire 4. Attend a Meet&Greet event OR Have a first-time meeting with the organizer, and 5. Read, fill out and sign our Membership and Liability Release form.
