The First Friday Skate:
Usually we meet on the first Friday of every month at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Lincoln Road Mall (Miami Beach) at 6:30 PM. If you're planning to join us, please note this big location change due to the Super Bowl activities. To avoid heavy traffic and expensive parking we’ll meet at Muss Park, 4400 Chase, Miami Beach 33140 at 6:30 and be ready to roll by 7:00 PM SHARP!

This First Friday Skate will not be police-escorted because of the Super Bowl weekend. The route is about 10-12 miles and the group travels at an average speed of less than 10 miles-per-hour. There is at least one water break at the midway point. Helmets are mandatory, and blinking lights are a must after dark.
Cyclists and others who would like to join us at the First Friday Skate are welcome. This event is FREE and open to participants of all ages.

One more thing. Like all major cities Miami Beach is undergoing budget cuts and looking for ways to reduce spending. If only a handful of skaters show up for the 1st Friday Skate, it makes it very hard to justify the police support and the extra expense to the new Miami Beach administration. So we really need to get more people to show up on skates or bikes for this and other 1st Friday Skates.

Directions:
To get to Muss Park, 1-95 to I-195 east continue east across the Julia Tuttle Causeway to Arthur Godfrey (41st Street) continue about ½ mile to Chase and turn left. Continue about 3 blocks and park. Parking is free at most meters after 6pm. There is also a free (after 6pm) parking lot on Chase ½ block south of 41st on the right (west) side of the street.
