- Introduction hyper by 王旭,Hyper创始人 Confirmed
# About Hyper
With the rise of Docker, the world is taking a shift to the Applicaion-focused and Microservicearchitecture. As such, the cloud of tomorrow (http://www.ibuildthecloud.com/blog/2014/08/19/containers-as-a-service-caas-is-the-cloud-operating-system/) will be very different than today (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing#Infrastructure_as_a_service_.28IaaS.29).
However, the lack of the necessary isolation in Container is holding us from this future, given that security is indispensable in a public, multi-tenant platform. Virtualization, on the other hand, is born for hardware-enforced isolation, though VM are inherently heavy, in both term of performance and image wise.
Hyper (https://stackedit.io/hyper.sh) is an open source effort with the goal to Make VM run like Container. Hyper combines the best from both Virtualization and Container:
Run any Docker image on any hypervisor
Fast as Container
Isolated by VM
With Hyper, we believe that the future of Container-as-a-Service is just around the corner.
At HyperHQ, we are proud to be born and grow as an Open Source company, since 2014, from Beijing, China.
- IBM EGO introduction by Lei Su
Abstract: A Data Center Operating System (DCOS) is a technology foundation for Software Defined Infrastructure products/solutions, providing resource aggregation across the data center(s), multi-tenancy, policy-based sharing, integration with multiple workload types, supports enterprise capabilities (Reporting, GUI, HA, Security). IBM Platform Enterprise Grid Orchestrator (EGO) as the core of DCOS, is the foundation of IBM Platform Computing's products including LSF, Symphony, Application Service Controller (ASC), and Platform Resource Scheduler(PRS) for OpenStack environments. It provides a common distributed resource and service management functions to enable multiple frameworks to run on a shared infrastructure. EGO contains a rich set of resource sharing policies, service high availability, near real-time information for dynamic load-balancing and placement of workloads, as well as fast parallel process execution capabilities.
Profile: Lei Su is Technique Leader in IBM Platform Symphony Team with six years experience on cluster resource management and resource scheduling. Recently focus on Spark related development, such as Spark on EGO scheduling, IBM Spark Cloud etc.
Big Data service based on Apache Mesos by Zhongyue Cancel with he's family plans. He will be sure to participate at our next meeting.
