We're welcoming in the Year of the Monkey with the next in our Vegan Outreach dinner series! This month, expat pub stalwart The Local will be rolling out a totally plant-based menu for us!

Our Destination:

The Local has been veggie-friendly from the start, with vegetarian items clearly labeled on their menu, but they've never gone full-on vegan with their offerings before. It's a super popular spot in the heart of Sanlitun, and they''re really excited about making their menu more vegan-friendly, so this is a chance for us to have a really big, lasting impact on the expat dining scene!

Reservations:

The cost will be ￥100 per person, to be paid in advance. We will need a minimum of 20 people to RSVP in order for the dinner to happen, and the number of diners will be capped at 40.

I can accept payments by WeChat Wallet. If we're not already connected, you can find me as "ZaxInBeijing". Also, in the week before the dinner I'll plan to hang out in a cafe for one or two evenings so that folks who can't use WeChat Wallet have a chance to pay in person.

Our Mission:

The goal of the Vegan Outreach dinners is to make western restaurants in Beijing more vegan-friendly, as well as provide a familiar venue for us to invite our non-vegan friends to see how easy and accessible switching to a plant-based diet can be. Afterwards, the restaurant will update its menu with vegan labels so that vegan ordering in the future will be easy for all!
