Using Linked In To Get Recruiters Attention

Almost every recruiter uses Linked In to find candidates.

If you set up your profile correctly and use Linked In correctly, you can increase the chances a recruiter contacts you.

We will go over each aspect of the Linked In profile, how to obtain recommendations which appeal to recruiters, how to join groups and everything else you need to get a recruiters attention.

We also will look at various people's Linked In profiles so that you can have models to follow.

Feel free to bring your laptop and work on your Link In page during this session.

Finally, we will discuss some recruiters' beliefs that Linked In will replace resumes in the future. This is important for your job search.

Events at the Microsoft Store's Training Center require business causal attire. However, many people do dress up as if they are headed to a professional job interview.

Often, BJSP attendees meet at 7:00 AM at Panera Bread in Tyson's Mall prior to this event.

All Beltway Job Search Partners seminars are presented free of charge to job seekers.

Robert did an excellent job communicating and demonstrating in a very difficult environment (unexpected noise and other distracting activities in the vicinity). He listened effectively, and answered as many questions as he could. He is so dedicated to helping us that he stayed to answer questions long after the scheduled end time. All of the information I am receiving through BJSP meetings is helping me to be a more focused and effective job seeker.

Excellent session that was helpful for both novices and experienced Linked In users. Robert Brandau offered invaluable insights and kept the session useful, interactive, and informative for all participants -- even when technology and the surrounding environment failed to cooperate! Thank you, Robert, for generously giving your time and assistance. I look forward to participating in future events and spreading the word about this group's activities to other professionals.

Robert was very helpful. He was very clear about the importance of each section of LinkedIn. He made sure we knew what to look for and why each section was important. He answered all questions and kept a good attitude despite the disruptive atmosphere the Microsoft Store provided. He offered individual assistance to those who asked for it. I highly recommend this event, just in a different location.

This program lived up to its billing thanks to Robert's excellent presentation. Being a recruiter himself, Robert was able to share his expertise on what draws a recruiter's attention. Robert offered practical tips on how job seekers can utilize Linked In more effectively as a job search tool. The Q and A following the presentation was also very helpful.

Bob, I must congratulate you for a job very well done. You ran a very productive and resourceful meeting while overcoming a very difficult acoustic environment at the Microsoft store. Their employees were preparing a welcome to Microsoft HR VIPs' with loud "Happy" song and clapping hands. In the meantime, jack hammers and floor cleaning machines were adding to the cacophony. Your answers to our very many and pointed questions were clear, understandable and to the point. Well done and congratulations!

Robert did a wonderful job around explaining the strengths of LinkedIn in the job search environment. Given the difficult environment (noisy) it was easy to hear his points. He allowed for a lengthy question and answer period to overcome the noise that was difficult to ignore. Also, tying this subject to upcoming Linkedin sessions was a great segue into the other job searching topics. Robert's compelling approach and commitment to the mission continues to create a wonderful event.

Robert's presentation helped me appreciate how heavily recruiters rely on LinkedIn to find job candidates. He pointed out features of his own LinkedIn profile that stand out to recruiters. As a result, I have fresh ideas on ways to strengthen my own. Thank you, Robert.

This should be an outstanding training session. No matter how much we think we know about LinkedIn and what recruiters are looking for, there are always other innovative techniques and secrets we have yet to explore.
