3 cheers for Louis Montgomery! His well organized straight talk about what recruiters can and can't do for you was a real time saver. Knowing that and looking at myself through a recruiter's lens suddenly clarified what my resume should look like if I were responding to a specific opening.
But recruiters aren't matchmakers. So, as he said, you can't rely on them to find what you are looking for. You've got to beat the bushes for yourself.
His networking suggestions were helpful, as were his dialogue suggestions.
Because sometimes you know what you should say but can't quite figure out how to say it.
    Thanks again, Louis.

Good presentation, steady on track on what the other world of recruiters focuses on. What recruiters expect to see, How to make it easier for them to see and work with your resume. How to handle working with recruiters to get the job done in a company hiring job market. If your between positions, make the smart move and attend a beltway job search partners session on Saturday, or a special session during the week.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Montgomery's presentation this morning regarding the recruitment process and how to make the relationship between myself and recruiters, work in my favor. I left the session feeling renewed and rejuvenated regarding my job search, now knowing the ins and outs of working the process. My greatest take away from Mr. Montgomery's presentation is that basically, I am in control of who I recruit with and how I can turn it around with "subtlety", to work for me. Who knew? Excellent presentation.

What an incredible session this morning at Beltway. Louis Montgomery demonstrated why he is one of the true professionals chosen as a presenter at these seminars, and why he deserved a full morning for this topic. His knowledge and expertise were evident throughout the discussion, providing insights on the thought processes associated with recruiters at all levels, how to become visible to recruiters, and how to engage recruiters if and when they contact us. I truly appreciated the presentation, and the frank and direct answers to our questions. As an added bonus, his suggestions and techniques for expanding our personal networks and better utilizing LinkedIn could not have been better received. Another exceptional session. Thank you Louis, Robert and Beltway Job Search Partners.

The Meetup? Absolutely exceptional. The content of what Louis Montgomery provided us was above and beyond what I had expected and exceeded in many ways previous presentations on the same subject. The success of Louis' outstanding presentation and connectivity with the audience was aptly demonstrated in the myriad of questions from those present. His presentation technique, clearly would place him at the national level in any Toastmasters International contest. Thanks again for an outstanding job well done.

Excellent speaker. It was good to learn the perspective of a recruiter and what things are like in recruiting today.

Mr. Montgomery was spot on in so many ways. As informative as his presentation was I believe those in attendance need to be congratulated for asking so many well thought out questions and questions that have been on this audience's mind for quite some time. It was truly a topic that became an organic blend of learning, sharing and "to-be-continued" conversations among this group. Very well done!
