Bend Canine Friends Message Board › hosting hikes

hosting hikes

A former member
we have grown!
I would like to remind everyone that anyone who has attended 2 events with Central Oregon Dogs can host a hike, anytime. I am happy to make you an event coordinator, and you can put up hikes and lead them.
A couple of suggestions: lead hikes you have done and are familiar with  if they are further out, or not well traveled.  Most of the hikes in or around town are busy enough that you really can't get lost.
You may want to consider limiting the size, we generally find 10-12 people is the biggest that is manageable simply because everyone has one or two dogs, so it is really a big group when you think about it.
Please remember to post a meet up point for people who want to carpool.  Mileage, time and a link about the hike is helpful to check out difficulty levels.
This group belongs to the members and the more people posting fun events, the better for the whole group.
We thank all those who have stepped up to lead hikes, and everyone that has participated and helped this be the fun group that it is.
If you have any hikes you want to explore, and don't feel like leading one, please email, and one of the current leaders will be happy to host as well.
