I wanted to invite everyone to an exciting new event that United Media Productions is sponsoring from 2-5 p.m. -- a Do You Look Like Your Dog? Fashion Show which will have a prominent judge and hosts, networking, and will be filmed for a TV pilot. If you have a dog, participate in the fashion show and compete for various prizes, or just come to observe the show and mingle before and afterwards. I'll be extending the invitation to numerous groups, including Creating the Future, the SF Movie Makers and the Bay Area Film and TV Connection on MeetUp. Here's a copy of the press release about the event.
United Media Productions invites pet owners to bring their fancy-dress pooches to the Do You Look Like Your Dog? fashion show. The event will be hosted by Mickey Aguilara, a local canine activist, and Sharon Collins of United Media Productions. The event is on Saturday, December 4, at Pride & Pedigree dog care and boarding center,[masked]th Street in Oakland (between Broadway and Telegraph), from 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. Contestants are asked to arrive at 1:30p.m. to register.
Owners are invited to dress up their dogs and themselves for the occasion and vie for prizes. Awards will be given for the best look-a-likes, funniest costume, best celebrity style, most original look, and more. Contestants are invited to expedite their registration by downloading and completing the registration form at www.UnitedMediaProductions.org. Do You Look Like Your Dog? contestants will be required to present a current vaccination certificate at the on-site registration.
Contestants will also have a chance to be featured on a Do You Look Like Your Dog? TV pilot being videotaping at the event. Others without dogs are invited to watch and help choose their favorite contestants with their cheers.
There will also be networking before and after the event, refreshments, a business card raffle with prizes for winners, and more.
The entry fee is $8 per dog and owner; general admission is $10 per person or $15 per couple in advance or $15 per person at the door. Passes are available for media and sponsors. You can call[masked] or email [masked] to request advance tickets.
The proceeds will benefit United Media Productions, a not-for-profit organization that promotes creative collaboration for a better world through media services and instruction. If you would like to be a sponsor, or if you would like to donate a raffle prize, contact Sharon Collins at [masked]. United Media Productions programs and projects can be viewed at www.UnitedMediaProductions.org.
The Do You Look Like Your Dog? theme was launched in 1999 by Gini Graham Scott with the Do You Look Like Your Dog? website (www.DoYouLookLikeYourDog.com), book (published by Random House), and game (published by Briarpatch). A 2011 Do You Look Like Your Dog? calendar will be available for sale at the event.
