This is a group for anyone who is genuinely interested in the art of beer brewing and beers that are crafted to taste good rather than to sell to the widest audience. The focus of this group is to promote beers brewed by microbreweries, rather than on large, mass-market beers brewed by large-scale industrial brewers.

The purpose of this group will be to:

1. Visit the microbreweries of Berlin (and meet the brewers, if possible)
2. Allow members to swap their favourite bottled beers, perhaps from abroad
3. Facilitate home-brewers to meet each other

Please note: Since there are several Berlin meetup groups already with a specific focus on going out / drinking / socialising, it should be noted that this group will focus on the beer first and foremost.

As a general guide, members of this group:

• hunt down microbreweries
• have been known to take notes when drinking beers
• actually care what a beer smells like
• generally prefer ales to lagers
• prefer quality over quantity, but quantity is not ruled out
• don't quote silly marketing fluff, but actually care about the beer in the glass
