Berlin Hack and Tell #18 - BWIWAB

Hackers unite!

since 2013 started without Armageddon we now have go on with our lives and fill it with awesome hacks! So let's meet to show off how the hacks of the future can look like.

For the 10th time c-base, our kind host, is an official partner for the transmediale 2013 and put up a full schedule titled "BWPWAP", meaning "Back when pluto was a planet". We are proud to be an official part of this program and hope to blow everybody away and hope the theme won't take us "back when IE6 was a browser".

As always we won't want to limit the kind or relation of hacks. Demo cool stuff, no matter if it's an mobile app, website, desktop program or library. BUT: We'd be very happy if you want to demo something we've never seen or heard before - just hack our senses (i.e. media related hacks)! Anything is allowed, just cross the line to awesomeness - and if it fails it should do it really beautiful.

There are not many rules, but:

  • You'll get 5 minutes to present in English
  • you or your team should have built it yourself
  • people can ask you afterwards
  • NO PURE SLIDEDECKS, no pitches, only Demos + Code
  • keep in mind that the audiences is highly technical and starts snoring if you do marketing voodoo
  • entertain us!

if( you.isSure ){ bhnt.rsvp(you, true) }

To give everyone a fair chance the registration will open this time exactly 5 days before the meetup. This will be on Thursday, Jan 24, 6.30pm. Mark it in your calendar!

If you come, tell us through Meetup. If you want to present, tell us in the registration form. And if you have feedback please send it to [masked]. Our relaxed event will only as good as everybody makes it. Bring your hacks and your friends and join us for the evening.

PS: Presenters get a reserved seat. If you want to join for sure you should bring a hack and contact us.

HACK THE PLANET!

Cheers,
Keith, Charles and Stefan, your Berlin Hack & Tell organizers

    hi Lovely Hackntellers!
sorry I can't be there, hosting another event tonight. In the future when there are holograms and time travel I might come back to this date and be at both places at once, just for fun! but for now, a simple post or two can suffice.
Just wanted to mention a few events I'm helping organise which you're all welcome to participate in if you feel so inclined! I was even going to tell you about it all in pig latin but alas, all i can do is write it, and hope it makes sense! Since there will be no pizza, you have time to figure it out:) Feel free to post your own pig latin responses down below yo!:)
Anyway, Have fun tonight, see ya next time!

To all the sick hackers who canceled last minute: Feel better soon!

At least you can prepare awesome new hacks to show at #19 since you're lying in bed anyway. :-)

Everyone who wanted to present sth is invited.

For those who come only for pizza: Please free the spot as we don't have pizza (or anything else) this time. But we hope to make up for it in awesomeness of hacks.

  • Stefan H.

For everyone on the waiting list: Please answer the question for a hack with a yes + description and you'll be let in this evening.
