Summer came back and so do we! Let's showcase what we've been working on lately and compete over the "Hack of the Month" award.

Thanks to IS4IT our pizzas are covered again. Let's give them a warm welcome.

bhnt.rules =

There are not many rules, but:

  • You'll get 5 Minutes to present in English
  • you or your team should have built it yourself
  • people can ask you afterwards
  • NO PURE SLIDEDECKS, no pitches, only Demos + Code
  • keep in mind that the audiences is highly technical and starts snoring if you do marketing voodoo
  • entertain us!

if( you.isSure ){ bhnt.rsvp(you, true) }

To give everyone a fair chance the registration will open this time exactly 7 days before the meetup. This will be tomorrow evening. Mark it in your calendar!

If you come, tell us through Meetup. If you want to present, tell us in the registration form. And if you have feedback please send it to [masked]. Our relaxed event will only as good as everybody makes it. Bring your hacks and your friends and join us for the evening.

PS: Presenters get a reserved seat. If you want to join for sure you should bring a hack and contact us.

HACK THE PLANET!

Cheers,
Tobias, Keith and Stefan, your Berlin Hack & Tell organizers

I'm trying to locate the "encrypted backup" hack, does anyone have a pointer?

Thanks for showing interest in my little hack. While the core functionality is ready, working and well-tested, one particularly interesting part is still missing: the SFTP storage. That means the tool can currently only used locally (but you could upload the .scs folder efficiently with rsync). Nevertheless, I released it early so you can already play around with it.

FYI: I created another tool with another approach to the same goal: Shasplit - http://vog.github.io/... which I'd like to present at one of the next BHNT meetups.

The speaker changeovers need to be quicker! I somehow wish people could easier take breaks for pizza or wander about without disturbing the speaker.

Excellent, typical Hack and Tell quality and style. The presentation were mostly really good and thought provoking, sometimes exceptional like the winner http://tos-dr.info. And the pizza was tasty as well :)

It was great, but about an hour too long. The last about 5 presenters shouldn't have been given such long time ranges for Q&A. It would have been better to quit early, so that people are still around and can ask questions afterwards.

So many great talks, and such a great and interested audience. It's always a pleasure to be here! Definitely my favorite event in the Berlin IT scene.

Ok, I just invited the people who said that they want to present. 5 more seats on top this makes our maximum of 90 seats.
Again, if you can't come please give up your seat for other hackers who eagerly wait.
All others: We are thrilled by your interest and the preregistered hacks. Will be a really lucky number seemingly.

For people who want to get in through a presentation: Please update your answers in the RSVP so I can get you from the waiting list onto the YES-list. I will do this this evening.
Also please change your RSVP to NO if you know you can't make it. The people on the waiting list apriciate it.

Wow, so many hackers already, love it!
@Andreas: Great you want to try to win the Hack of the month-award. :-)
@Ravi: We have HDMI at c-base. It's a bit of a diva sometimes but it works. Most of the time.
