Second Apache Spark Workshop

Hi everyone,

Too many people were in the waiting list on the first workshop, so we decided to make it again. Please be nice and let the spots for those who couldn’t participate in the first workshop:)

So, Spark is the new trend in big data technologies, offering you an easy API and multiple environment to work with, like Batch, Streaming, SQL, Graph and Machine Learning processing. In this second workshop, we are gonna show you the same steps as in the priviews one, namely the main characteristics of Spark, RDD, Actions and Transformations.

The workshop will start with Spark intro and will continue with many Spark examples, including the well know Wordcount example. Examples will be written and explained in different languages, Java, Scala and Python.

You are gonna need your own laptop and we will provide the cluster infrastructure. More details soon :)

To handle better the workshop, the number of participants is limited to 20. Your mentors : Scala(Ionut Bratu), Java(Tudor Lapusan) and Python (Andrei Bâcu)

Of course, we will have pizza, juice and beers ;) After the workshop, we plan to go out in some pub to socialize. Thanks Telenav for supporting this workshop
