Abstract:

There are many SQL tools available to run SQL on Hadoop. Hortonworks often see there is a lot of misunderstanding in the field in terms of which is the right tool for which use case. In this talk Hortonworks would cover and compare various options that exist today and couple it with some interesting use cases.

Tim Marston - Tim Marston is Director of Regional Alliances for EMEA at Hortonworks. Tim has a long history in enterprise open source software, and has previously established the European partner ecosystems for both DataStax and mongoDB. Prior to this he worked at Red Hat, leading several EMEA channel programs. Tim is based in the UK, and holds Masters degrees from both the University of Oxford and the Surrey Business School.

Ankur Gupta - Ankur Gupta is a Senior Solution Engineer at Hortonworks currently leading the Middle East & Africa region. He has over fourteen years of experience in data management, working as an Data Architect and Oracle DBA. Ankur is a regular speaker on big data concepts, Hive, Hadoop, Oracle in various events. He is author of two books Practical Hive: A guide to Hadoop's data warehouse system and Oracle Goldengate 11g Complete Cookbook and has a Masters’ degree in Computer Science & International Business. He is a Hadoop Certified Administrator & Oracle Certified Professional.
