Big Data meetup - Craft Edition

Details
The Craft conference (craft-conf.com (https://craft-conf.com/2016)) is in town again! We are organizing a special meetup where our international guests and the local data community can meet & mix.
List of talks:
Rediscovering the command line, or Your Data isn’t that BigThis is a little rant about my rediscovery of just how much I can get done with the unix shell and a few tools. Working at the command line is an unexploited resource that too many developers have forgotten. We’re too easily seduced by hipster frameworks designed to address much bigger problems, and we’ve become too comfortable in our full-screen IDEs. These days, I find it easier and more effective to return to old-style tools that I can compose together and interact with quickly. You have nothing to lose but your tool chains!Steve Freeman, SpringerNature
Database DisastersWe've deployed a lot of different database technologies at Uber, and they've all failed in various, often spectacular ways. I'll take you through 2 actual post-mortems of database failures that broke production and what we've done to prevent this kind of thing from happening in the future.Matt Ranney, Uber
