ABSTRACT:
Hypertable (www.hypertable.com (http://www.hypertable.com/)) is a high performance, open source, scalable database modeled after Google's Bigtable database. What differentiates Hypertable from similar technologies such as HBase is its focus on performance. The Hypertable core database is written in C++ which means that it doesn't suffer from the memory problems associated with garbage collection and makes much better use of the CPUs. Hypertable is in production use at Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), China's leading search engine, and Rediff.com (Nasdaq: REDF), a top Indian Internet portal and one of the world's largest email providers. In this talk, Doug Judd, co-founder and CEO of Hypertable Inc. will present Hypertable, covering its salient features, future roadmap, and two high profile case studies.
