Meet about HTCondor: Scaling Up without Freaking Out

Details

Hi everyone,

Time for the next meetup! We are pleased to announce that the HTCondor team from UW has been kind enough to volunteer to present at the end of March. Here is the subject. I hope everyone can make it.

HTCondor has always been at the cutting edge of large, High Throughput Computing, starting in 1998, when it leveraged the power of 23 Vaxstation II's, each running at 5 Mhz. As we've grown through the phases of clusters, grids, and clouds, we've grown in scale from hundreds of machines to thousands of machines, to a hundred thousand cores. Each factor of ten of scale has brought new complications. We'll talk about these complications, approaches to solving them, and open problems with running at scale.
