An Introduction to Apache (Spark and Mesos)

Locally based Redhat developers Tim St. Clair and Will Benton will team up to present about Apache projects Spark and Mesos. Below are the details.

Apache Mesos is a resource manager for compute clusters that makes it easy to schedule multiple competing applications on shared hardware. Apache Spark is a distributed computing framework that provides a superior programming model and excellent performance for many different kinds of analytics problems. Spark has special support for running on Mesos, so they're even better together. In this talk, we'll introduce you to Mesos and Spark, give you some examples of what they look like in action, and show you how to get started trying them out for yourself.
