UHUG - Data Science @ Blue Coat - Chris Larsen Speaking

Hi Everyone,

The Hadoop User Group will be moving to Draper at Blue Coat Systems for April.

This will be an evening meeting with a dinner provided by Blue Coat. Chris Larsen will be speaking for us!

Bio:
Chris leads the WebPulse Threat Research Team at Blue Coat Systems, just up the road in Draper. He and his team monitor Web traffic logs for enterprise, government, small businesses, and home users around the world, looking for traces of malicious activity. He's been writing code for 3 decades, and Blue Coat's blog for the last several years. He has degrees in Computer Science and Linguistics from BYU. He used to play World of Warcraft with his sons, but cancelled the accounts several years ago, since it's more fun to spend time at night fighting real Bad Guys.

Synopsis:
Chris will be talking about some of the challenges posed by hunting for Bad Guys in Big Data, and about some approaches that make it a little easier.
