Bioinformatics Community Project

Did you know that DNA sequencing is the fastest developing technology in the history of mankind? There's tons of freely accessible data out there for us to explore, and all it takes is a computer to dive in...

Come join us for the second meeting of our new Bioinformatics Community Project, and help us brainstorm some topics we could tackle as a group.

Our community projects are open to anyone, and are driven entirely by whoever wants to show up and participate. This is a great opportunity to come check out BioCurious, and jump into some of the projects going on.

This project focuses on the computational side of modern biology: genetics, genomics, next-gen sequencing, maybe even some systems biology or metagenomics. But don't let that scare you away - you can jump in at any point and we're happy to help you get you feet wet! Everyone here has something to learn, or something to teach.

Folks, we will also make this meetup available through our BioCurious skype. So be sure to add this username to skype if you can't make it physically: john.biot

I'm interested. Can someone give a little more detail on the project?

Ted, right now we have a list of potential projects that we can do. In this upcoming meetup, we will see if there's any last minute project suggestions, and then we will all vote on which project we all want to pursue.
