DIY DNA synthesis, biohacking & quantum biology w/ Guest Nathan McCorkle

Details
Prepare for Nathan to lead you on a DNA adventure; this is his story:
"I started hacking at age 3 with a plastic screwdriver, dismantling my
toy-box to my parents' dismay, for a while they tried hiding tools
from me. After years of ripping apart old electronics and appliances,
and computer code, I discovered a passion in biohacking. My high
school biology class was just too interesting, and I began
experimenting at home the next year, mastering sterile technique in my
mom's kitchen. It really gave me an advantage in college, I didn't
have to worry about the simple stuff, I could really focus on the big
picture. Recently I've been working on open-source biotech hardware,
last year I started the openSpectrometer project on kickstarter, and
lately I've been working on a weird laser cutter for making a
microfluidic (small fluidic channels the size of blood capillaries)
DIY DNA synthesizer that will be 1/100th the cost of current devices.
For 3 or 4 years I've been active in the online biohacking community
DIYbio, and I've done biosecurity outreach with the FBI on multiple
occasions."
Intrigued? Come join us! We are working on a really cool venue for this one...will keep you posted.
Cheers,
Lydia
