Abstract
You probably already use configuration management and monitoring but do you test your infrastructure? We'll explore some tools that can be used to ensure things are working as expected and create a fully tested Chef cookbook that installs Varnish for caching our website. We'll see how to test our Varnish cookbook with Chefspec, Test Kitchen and Serverspec to ensure our Varnish configuration and website are behaving as expected.
Bio
Andy has been writing code to automate the management of servers since 1998 when he cut his chops working on an early FreeBSD Intranet and email server called the intY access server. Since then he's worked as both a sysadmin and web developer for various companies large and small. He now runs Hello Future, a DevOps and web development consultancy.
