The Blockchain is kind of a big deal. The fundamental technology behind Bitcoin and Ethereum, the Blockchain platform has rushed onto the scene and many consider it to have as much disruptive potential as the Internet itself. Unlike the Internet, which is dominated by massive established companies located around the Bay Area, the Blockchain is still unclaimed territory. Might San Diego have a major role to play in the evolution and development of this new platform? Join Jordan Greenhall (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jordangreenhall) (former founder and CEO of DivX) and other local Blockchain enthusiasts for a discussion around a new concept for a Blockchain Accelerator and whether it would find a good home in San Diego.

****************

The agenda for this evenings meetup:6:30-7:15 - small talk, networking

7:15-7:45 - Jordan introduction of self and some background info on the fund and those involved in it, open discussion about the environment in San Diego specifically, group shares signs that it would be a good fit vs signs that it might not be, and personal experiences w/ our city getting exposed to Bitcoin and other revolutionary technologies

7:45-9:00 - Go around the table to share blockchain-related startup ideas; anywhere from the inception stage to the revenue generating stage and everything in between, and then we invite feedback, questions and some limited discussion from the rest of the room about each idea as they are presented. To be clear, this is not a pitch competition w/ slide decks and everything, as we simply don't feel like that format would be appropriate for this stage of discussion, and we think a more open discussion format would be more useful.

9:00 - start wrapping things up so that AirBitz can close up their office by 9:30pm.

PARKING SITUATION

People will have to find parking on the street where it is free after 6 PM.

After 6pm Yellow Loading Zones are available to park in also.

Alternatively, there are 3 parking structures nearby that are 2-3 blocks away but charge anywhere fro $5 - $12 depending if it also falls on an event (Convention Center events or Stadium events).

Horton Plaza Mall - 3 hour parking free with validation inside the mall.

Here's a map of the parking structures and prices:

Be sure to zoom into Convention Center area and near 4th Ave. There are actually more than 3 and also set the time after 6 PM so it calculates the rates correctly.
