When The Netherlands takes leadership of the EU Council for the first 6 months of 2016, one of its top three priorities will be innovation, and the Marine Terrein will be the center of many of its activities.
Bitcoin Wednesday will be held here for the second time on 4 November.

November's edition of Bitcoin Wednesday begins at 15:00 sharp on Wednesday, 4 November. It will be followed by a dinner at 17:00 that also includes a special talk and dinner discussion about the role Dutch banks are taking in this sector.
The conference is free. The dinner (optional) is €20 if paid in advance with Bitcoin or €25 with old fashioned cash. There will be a cash bar for drinks throughout the event.

• "Technology for a Web of Cooperative Economies" by Ashley Taylor
Ashley Taylor (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-ashley-taylor/?src=meet&cmp=desc&cnt=Taylor) is Social Innovation and Strategy member of Consensus Systems (ConsenSys), a blockchain company pioneering development on the cryptographically-secure, decentralized network called Ethereum.

• "Introducing MoneyCircles.com: Peer-to-peer Lending Governed by Smart Contracts on a Blockchain" by Aron van Ammers
Aron van Ammers (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-aron-van-ammers/), CTO of Blockstars.io will show and explain his new startup. Aron gave an earlier presentation at Bitcoin Wednesday in July on industry-specific blockchains.
• "EU Court of Justice Rules Bitcoin Transactions are Exempt from VAT" by Menno Weij
Menno Weij (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-menno-weij/?src=meet&cmp=pge&cnt=Weij) will address the recent decision on VAT for digital currency by the EU Court of Justice. Menno is the partner at the Amsterdam-based ICT law firm Solv who is handling the appeal against the recent Overijssel verdict on whether or not Bitcoin is money, something else or something more.
• "A Cryptocurrency Tech Roundup" by Toufic "Tey" AlRjoula
Cryptocurrency adviser Toufic "Tey" AlRjoula (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-toufic-alrjoula/) will give a tech roundup of some of the most important developments in the sector over the last few months.
• "The Role of the Dutch Banks in the Digital Currency Sector" by Peter de Ruiter
Writer, photographer, communications expert and publisher, Peter de Ruiter (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-peter-de-ruiter/?src=meet&cmp=pge&cnt=deRuiter) writes on the subject of Bitcoin and the blockchain for the online newsmagazine Follow The Money. Peter will give his talk during the benefit dinner from 17.00 - 19.00 immediately following the conference.
• "The Swiss-based Monetas Transaction Platform: How It Puts Consumers in Charge of Their Assets" by Harm Aarts
Harm Aarts (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/event/bitcoin-wednesday-29/?src=meet&cmp=desc&cnt=Aarts) is a software developer for Monetas with an academic background in both artificial intelligence and economics. He has many years of experience with neuroscience, software, telecommunications, big data and gardening in the city.
• "An Introduction to the Dash Ecosystem" by Pieter Jan Bakhuijzen
Pieter Jan Bakhuijzen (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-pieter-jan-bakhuijzen/?src=meet&cmp=desc&cnt=Bakhuijzen) is a network architect who has worked for multinationals such as ABN Amro Bank, Delta Lloyd and Campina as well as for the Dutch Central Bank and the government of the Province of Utrecht. He is also considered an expert in managing infrastructure for the Dash network.
